Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is feeling very confident ahead of the much anticipated Super Bowl 59 clash against the Philadelphia Eagles on February 9 in New Orleans.
What did Kansas City Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes say?
While talking to ESPN, Patrick Mahomes praised the whole squad whether it's the offence, defence or even special teams. Mahomes lauded his teammates for stepping up each and every time and being able to make crucial plays in critical moments. He is hoping that the Chiefs do it once more in this season when it matters the most.
This team's been special because it's been everybody, If you look at our entire season, it's like someone makes a big play at the biggest moment to go out there and win a football game, if that's offense, defense or special teams, Mahomes said via ESPN.com.
The fact that it's been everybody, it's not just offense, it's not just defense, it's everybody on the entire team, it is something I'll remember this season by and hopefully we can do it the right way and get this final win, he added.
Kansas City Cheifs are just one win away from creating history
Kansas City Chiefs have reached the Super Bowl thrice consecutively and if they manage to beat the Eagles in New Orleans, then they will become the first team in National Football League (NFL) history to win it three times in a row.
To make that possible, the Chiefs need to get past Jalen Hurts, who has had a terrific season so far. The Eagles' offence is flanked by offseason acquisition Saquon Barkley, who has been dominant on the ground throughout the season.
So far this season, Barkley has registered over 2,000 yards on the ground which is enough to land him for the coveted NFL MVP award. He was a force to reckon with at his former club, the New York Giants. Now paired with Eagles offensive line and quarterback Jalen Hurts, Barkley has flourished at his new franchise.
The Eagles will look to avenge their 2023 Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs this time around. If they win this year's Super Bowl, then it will be the first Super Bowl ring for both Hurts and Barkley.
