Tom Brady is in disbelief as Bill Belichick didn’t get voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. The seven-time Super Bowl champion has reacted strongly as his former coach didn’t receive the necessary 40 votes from the 50-person panel of media members and other Hall of Famers.

During his appearance on Seattle Sports 710's Brock & Salk show, Birthday joined the list of celebrities who openly speak out against the happening. The 48-year-old responded with: \

“I don't understand it .... if he's not a first-ballot Hall of Famer there's really no coach that should ever be a first-ballot Hall of Famer.”

Brady played under Belichick at the New England Patriots for 20 years, making them one of the longest-running player-coach pairings in the history of the NFL. They are generally credited with the Patriots' success and credited with helping to create a team culture, dubbed the "Patriot Way.”

The legendary coach, who was signed by the Patriots in 2000, led the franchise and Brady to six Super Bowl wins and three other appearances in the title game. The former coach of the team spent his 24 years with the team before he announced his departure in 2024.  

The 73-year-old holds numerous coaching records, including the record of most Super Bowl wins (six) as a head coach. He also has two more Lombardi Trophies as the defensive coordinator of the New York Giants, for a record eight total Super Bowl victories as coach and coordinator.
