Story Highlights:

Travis Kelce failed to catch a Taylor Swift Life of a Showgirl lyric reference tied to him, sparking laughs on New Heights.

Kelce’s comments about Eric Bieniemy returning to Kansas City fueled speculation about a possible Chiefs comeback in 2026.

Travis Kelce may find himself in troubling waters after he failed to understand a reference to Taylor Swift's recent album, "The Life of a Showgirl." On this week's edition of the "New Heights" podcast, Jason Kelce read a request from a fan as he does each week.

The fans gave their opinion on the podcast themed merchandise but said they missed a chance by not mentioning a lyric from Swift's song, "wood."

Jason: (Reading fan message) from Steph. "Also, the Kelce Clubhouse is a gag, and I love the green hoodie, but I can't believe none of the new hoodies are called new heights of man hoodie." I don't know what the f*ck that means, but she's disappointed. What does that mean? What's a man hoodie, is that a thing?

The Kelce's were rattled by the question to which their producer, Brandon explained for them.

Brandon (NH producer): I'll just say it's a life of a show girl reference, Boys, come on... to the lyric. New heights of manhood. It is the time we were referenced in the album.

It was then that Travis Kelce understood the reference from a song that is actually considered a nod to him. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end joked that Taylor Swift was not going to be happy with his slip-up.

Travis: I didn't understand that. Taylor's gonna kill me for not knowing that. (We're not as good with Easter eggs as these Swifties.) They sure know how to plant them and call them out.

Travis and Jason Kelce then laughed over the missed clue and how fans want the merchandise to quote the song.

Travis Kelce opens up on Chiefs return in 2026

For months it has been speculated that Travis Kelce could come back ahead of the 2026 NFL season. The three-time Super Bowl winner has not confirmed nor denied those rumors but, a recent statement he made now has fans wondering what is next for him.

On this week's "New Heights" Travis and Jason Kelce were discussing Eric Bienemy interviewing for the role of offensive coordinator with the Chiefs. It was then that the tight end said he could not wait to meet his former coach.

“I can’t wait to see him back in the building man, he’s one of my favorite coaches of all time…..it’s gonna be awesome to see him back in the building” Kelce said via "New Heights".

Those comments insinuate that Kelce could come back to Kansas City next season. Bienemy was appointed by the Chiefs in 2013 and spent five seasons as the running back coach. He was then promoted to offensive coordinator in 2018, a role he kept through 2022.
