Tyreek Hill posted a peace sign and disappearing GIF following Tua Tagovailoa’s benching.

Miami named rookie Quinn Ewers as starter amid playoff elimination and cap concerns.

A peace sign emoji and a disappearing act narrated the story on Wednesday, as Tyreek Hill shared on X after the Dolphins benched Tua Tagovailoa.

The team announced that the quarterback would lose his starting berth to seventh-round rookie Quinn Ewers. The decision came two days after Miami lost 28-15 against Pittsburgh.

Hill's tweet featured the "Nileey"  GIF, a clip of someone waving goodbye before disappearing into thin air. The receiver added a peace sign emoji in the caption.

Hill is recovering from a dislocated knee he picked up in late September that finished his season.

Mike McDaniel slams Tua Tagovailoa after Steelers beatdown

Miami Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel didn't mince his words when he talked with reporters on Tuesday.

"I think the quarterback play last night was not good enough, and so for me, everything's on the table," McDaniel said.

Tua Tagovailoa threw for 253 yards against the Steelers on Monday, with most coming after Pittsburgh already put the game away. He had one interception and absorbed two costly sacks that restricted drives.

NFL Network's insiders Ian Rapoport, Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero confirmed on Wednesday that Quinn Ewrs will start against Cincinnati on Sunday. The decision benches a quarterback who penned a $212.4 million extension less than two years ago and leads the league with 15 picks this season.

Miami (6-8) has been eliminated from playoff contention and is facing a brutal salary cap circumstance going into 2026. The Dolphins are projected to be $11 million over the cap, with Tagovailoa carrying $56.4 million in guaranteed money next season.

Ewers featured in Week 7 during the loss against Cleveland, completing 5 of 8 passes for 53 yards. He will get his chance to show Miami his actual potential.
