The Kansas City Chiefs are 2-0 down in the new season for the first time since 2014 when Patrick Mahomes was signed by the franchise. The team has been playing without their two key players in the offense; Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice. While Rice is still serving a suspension, Worthy, who suffered a shoulder injury, is the centre of attention.
Will Xavier Worthy return for Sunday’s game against the Giants?
As per reports, Xavier Worthy does not require any surgery immediately. The 22-year-old who dislocated his shoulder is expected to participate in the Week 3 fixture for the Chiefs. The wide receiver went through drills alongside Jalen Royals at the start of practice on Wednesday. As Chiefs spoke to the media, head coach Reid was asked if there would be any limitations on the plate, to which he replied with one word, "No." However, he was a limited participant in the Chiefs' latest practice session on Wednesday as a precaution.
Worthy, unlike last week, was seen running routes without extra padding on his right arm during the open portion of practice which might be music to the ears for the Chiefs fans. The player sustained the injury following his collision with teammate Travis Kelce during their Week 1 fixture against the Chargers.

The Chiefs are hopeful for the former Texas Longhorns’ player to return and become a key weapon back for Mahomes which could go a long way to the offense and the star quarterback struggle statistically. Getting Worthy back in the team would be perfect timing now as the team looks back to make a comeback against a team which is also struggling to win a game this season so far.
Giants and Chiefs have both played each other fifteen times with Brian Daboll’s side leading the head-to-head record 11-4. In addition to this, they have not lost a single game at home with a 7-0 record against the Chiefs. Their latest encounter was in Week 8 of the 2021 season in Kansas City with the Clark Hunt-owned franchise grabbing the win with 20-17.
