Indian's Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Parinaaz Dhaliwal bagged a bronze medal in the mixed skeet event at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026 on September 24. The Indian pair levelled scores with South Korea but had to settle for a bronze as per rules.

In the final, India's progression through the six series was 7, 14, 21, 29, 36 and 44. Korea had 44 points at the end of Series 6 as well. Their progression was 8, 14, 22, 30, 38 and 44. But, India had to settle for a bronze because in the qualification round Korea finished with 143 points, five more than India.
The rule can in effect since July 1. As per ISSF rulebook's 9.18.4.2 point 'b', “In case there’s a tie up to and including this stage [when the third place is decided], the lowest Finals Start number wins. Finals Start Number 1 is the lowest Start Number, Start Number 4 is the highest Start Number.”
Hence, there was no tie-breaker between India and Korea.
In the Series 7, China finished with 52 a world record. Korea settled for a silver medal with a score of 51. Meanwhile, India missed out on a silver medal due to a technicality.
Another bronze for shooters
This was India's eighth medal across shooting events in Asian Games 2026. Indian shooters have won four bronze and as many silver medals so far.
This was Anantjeet and Parinaaz’s second bronze medal at the games. Both of them won a bronze in men’s and women’s skeet team events as well.
But, a gold medal continues to elude India’s shooting contingent. On September 23, Manu Bhaker finished fifth in the women’s 10m air pistol event.
On the September 24 in the men's 10m air pistol team event, trio of Kamaljeet, Balakrishna Kedarling Uchaganve and Aakash Bhadadwaj finished fourth and missed out a bronze medal. The trio registered a combined score of 1730. They had same points as Japan but the latter bagged a bronze medal.
