Hat-trick of gold medals for archers! India beat China by 1 point in dramatic final

India men's compound archery team comprising of Kushal Dalal, Sahil Jadhav and Ganesh Mani Ratnam Tahirumuru won a gold medal with a thrilling win over China in the final at Asian Games 2026. India beat China by 238-237 to completed a hat-trick of gold for archers on Day 11 of the Asian Games 2026.

In the final, India started the opening end with 58 points whereas China scored 60. In the second end, India and China secured 60 points. In the third end, India scored 60 points again whereas China scored 59. In the final end, India completed a hat-trick of 60 with perfect 10s. But, China's first shot in final end was eight which turned out to be decisive.

2nd gold for Jadhav 

This is Jadhav's second gold medal in the day. Earlier, he had teamed up with Chikitha Taniparthi to win a gold medal in compound team event in a dramatic shoot-off against Korea. Chikitha and Sahil also booked a place in the Los Angeles Olympics 2028.

India’s gold medals tally rises

This is India’s fourth gold medal on Day 11 and third by the archery contingent. Overall, this is India’s 10th gold medal at Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026.

Currently, India are seventh in the medal standings, just ahead of Iran. In addition to 10 gold medals, India have 21 silver and 25 bronze medals as well.
