Wushu athlete Divyanshi alleges suicide after shocking last-minute Asian Games drop

Indian wushu player Divyanshi Chaudhary has posted a heartbreaking video on social media where she has explained her shocking exit from the Asian Games, shattering her dreams. She has also alleged of self harming as the youngster believes there is no point in living following the incident. 

Divyanshi has accused the national federation of mental harassment after being removed from India’s squad for the 2026 Asian Games just days before departure. The 18-year-old from Kota, Rajasthan, had secured selection in the women’s 60kg Sanda category by defeating experienced competitor Roshibina Devi Naorem in the trials.

Divyanshi had already received her official kit and attended the send-off ceremony. The Wushu Association of India later replaced her, citing a medical assessment by the Sports Authority of India that found her unfit due to a shoulder ligament issue.

In a video posted from the national camp in Patiala, Divyanshi questioned the decision and alleged prolonged pressure and unfair treatment over several months. She also expressed deep distress and made statements indicating she no longer saw a reason to continue. Her coach has disputed the severity of the injury and the timing of the replacement.
