The Los Angeles Angels first baseman and Mike Trout's teammate Nolan Schanuel is having a terrific year for the team in the ongoing Major League Baseball season. Schanuel averages .273 in 79 games played.
Nolan Schanuel names this San Francisco Giants star as his favorite player
On this week's episode of Under the Halo podcast, Nolan Schanuel was joined by Trent Rush. The first baseman gave an insight to his journey to the major leagues. Not just this, he even named a forgotten star as one of his favorite players he used to watch while growing up.
Schanuel named Mike Trout and the Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz as his first two picks but out of the blue, he also named San Francisco Giants outfielder Cody Ross.
David Ortiz was a big guy for me, Cody Ross, was a big guy for me that a lot of people don't even know. That's the crazy thing, like Cody Ross was a baseball player, a high IQ baseball player.
I think I just loved to watch him because I was a student of the game. I loved to go to Marlins games when I could, spring training games all the time and watching Cody Ross and just a very high IQ baseball player who knew the game in and out.
The best years for Cody Ross were with Florida Marlins (now known as Miami Marlins). He helped the team win the World Series in 2010 and due to his heroics, he was named as the NLCS MVP that year.
