The Los Angeles Lakers will go head to head against Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday, March 20 at the Crypto.com Arena. The Bucks have a record of 38-30 and are fifth in the Eastern Conference, there's still a chance that they can secure homecourt advantage in the first round of the playoffs. The main question for the Bucks would be whether their star player Giannis Antetokounmpo will play against Lakers or not.
Will star player Giannis Antetokounmpo feature against Los Angeles Lakers?
Milwaukee Bucks move inch closer to the top-four in the Eastern Conference when they take on Lakers on Thursday. For the game against the Lakers, Antetokounmpo has been listed as probable despite having knee issues. According to Eric Nehm of the Athletic, Antetokounmpo will start against Lakers when they visit to Crypto.com Arena.
Antetokounmpo has been dealing with right patella tendinopathy for quite some time now. He has played 15 games on the trot ever since the action resumed after the All-Star break. During that time, Bucks had a record of 9-6.
Apart from Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard (groin) and Gary Trent Jr. (knee) have been also listed as probable for the clash against Lakers. Jericho Sims will be missing the match due to a thumb sprain while Bobby Portis Jr. is still serving a suspension after violating NBA's anti-drug program.
In the ongoing season, Antetokounmpo has been averaging 30.2 points, 12.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.3 blocks per game. In his 12th season with Milwaukee Bucks, he remains one of the key players on both ends of the court.
Giannis Antetokounmpo makes his way to all-time NBA scoring list
Apart from enjoying the success at Milwaukee Bucks, Antetokounmpo has notched up an impressive personal milestone. After the Bucks faced off against Cleveland Cavaliers on March 9, Nehm took to his X account (formerly known as Twitter) about the Greek Freak personal milestone.
Per Bucks PR: Giannis Antetokounmpo has passed Tom Chambers (20,049) to move up to No. 50 on the NBA’s all-time scoring list, Nehm posted on X.
Heading in to the clash against the Cavaliers, Antetokounmpo had 20,047 career points and was two points shy of Tom Chambers' 20,049. After registering 30 points in that game, Antetokounmpo leapfrogged Chambers to claim 50th spot on the list of all-time leading scorers in NBA.
Antetokounmpo has a total of 20,195 points. The next player on the list whom Antetokounmpo could move past is Joe Johnson, who has 20,407 points.
