It will be the first time these two teams will cross paths following a sensational trade that saw Luka Doncic departing from the Mavericks to the Lakers and in return the Mavs acquired the services of Anthony Davis. Following the exchange, both the players have successfully made their respective debuts with their new teams, and while Doncic has started to pick up pace as a Lakers, Davis is yet to showcase his mettle as a Maverick. So, will tonight be the night, will Anthony Davis play today against his former side?

Anthony Davis Injury Report

Anthony Davis made an impressive debut for the Mavericks, scoring 26 points in his first outing. However, he picked an abductor strain in the same game and has since remained out of action. He will miss out on tonight's game against the Lakers as well. Therefore, there won't be homecoming for the star forward for the time being.

The player is reportedly making progress as he ahead of the recent game against the Golden State Warriors, Davis was spotted on the court and engaged in a light workout as well. Despite that the there is no set timeline of his recovery has been notified by the Mavericks. While the stage was set for him tonight to light up the arena which he has called home for the last six years, but he would have to recover first and a chance like this will arrive again.

Dallas Mavericks Injury Report

Dallas Mavericks are in desperate need of the services of Anthony Davis but in his unavailability the onus would shift once again on Kyrie Irving to deliver for the Mavs. It should be noted that Anthony Davis is not the only player who will miss out on tonight's game, Mavericks side is plagued with injuries and a total of six players are listed in the Dallas Mavericks injury report.

Aside from Davis, Daniel Gafford (Knee), Dereck Lively (Ankle), Caleb Martin (Hip), will remain out for the game. Whereas Dwight Powell (Hip) and PJ Washington's (Ankle) status is questionable due to respective injuries.
