India got off to a fantastic start to their Asia Cup 2025 campaign as they defeated UAE comfortably by 9 wickets during the match on Wednesday. The Men in Blue first bowled out the hosts for just 57 runs before chasing down the modest target in just 4.3 overs. It was a dominant display in both the batting and bowling department by Suryakumar Yadav & Co. as they made complete mockery out of the UAE side that put in quite a forgettable performance.
Shivam Dube was one of the Indian players, who contributed well in the bowling department against the UAE. While Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers for the Men in Blue and recorded figures of 4/7, Shivam Dube also chipped in with three scalps and only gave away four runs in return. The latter dismissed the likes of Asif Khan (2), Dhruv Parashar (1) and Junaid Siddique (0) in his two-over spell.

Former India cricketer Amit Mishra was left very impressed with Dube's performance with the ball and remarked that the 32-year-old can go on to become a proper all-rounder in the coming future. Mishra further stated that Dube should be getting two or three overs in ever match as it will help him in improving his bowling more.
“Shivam Dube is a very good talent we have. Everyone knows he bats well, but even with the ball, yesterday he took three wickets. I feel that must have given him a big morale boost and a lot of confidence. I would like the Indian team to give him at least two or three overs whenever he gets a chance, because he could develop into a proper all-rounder for us, someone who can chip in with a couple of overs while also contributing with the bat,” Amit Mishra said in a video on his YouTube channel.
“We all know about his batting, and the fact that he is a left-hander adds another valuable option. So, in the coming time, he can become a fine all-rounder if we continue to back him,” he added.
India to face Pakistan next
Meanwhile, India's next opponent in the Asia Cup will be arch-rivals Pakistan and the clash between them will take place on September 14 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The Men in Blue will most likely secure a place in the Super 4 if they record victory over the Men in Green in the upcoming match.
