On September 14, Suryakumar Yadav-led India outclassed Pakistan in all departments of the game in their T20 Asia Cup 2025 group stage clash. After India's seven-wicket win, the players opted not to shake hands with the Pakistan players to express their solidarity with Pahalgam terrorist attack victims. Head coach Gautam Gambhir lauded the team and thanked the Indian Army for carrying out Operation Sindoor and destroying terror outfits in Pakistan.
“As a team, we wanted to show solidarity to victims of the Pahalgam attack. Thanks to our soldiers for Operation Sindoor," Gambhir told the broadcasters after the match.
What Suryakumar said in post-match presentation

Want to dedicate the win to all our armed forces who showed a lot of bravery. Gambhir lauds spinners and Bumrah for Dubai show
Gambhir lauded the team for their performance against Pakistan to cement their place in Super Fours. He praised all the spinners and pacer Jasprit Bumrah for pushing Pakistan batters on the back foot.
"You couldn't have asked for a better performance, especially the way the bowlers bowled. We managed to restrict the opposition to 128 [127]. All the spinners, Jasprit Bumrah, in fact all the bowlers [did really well]. You back your batting line-up to chase 128. The way we started was very important and that is what good teams do. They turn up and keep doing right things day in and day out," the former Indian opener said.
