Australian off-spinner and debutant Todd Murphy has been the best bowler for Australia in the first Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, picking up six wickets till now, and five on Day 2 of the game's play. In doing so, the 22-year-old became the youngest debutant to pick up a five-wicket haul for Australia.

After the end of Day's play, Murphy spoke to Perth Now and talked down the comparisons made to the late Shane Warne, saying that he is not similar to the Australian legend. "I shook my head when I saw that (comparison), I'm not sure I'm anything similar to Warnie," Murphy said.

He was also proud to have his family with him during this momentous event, with his father comparing his son drawing parallels with a player who is considered among the greatest bowlers of all time."To have them here - it was a pretty hectic couple of days for them to try to get across here, but they've been a part of the journey the whole way for me.

"Being from Victoria there's been a lot of hours in the car that they've all put in for me to get the opportunities I've had. To share the week with them is something we're going to remember forever. It's really special to have them here and they're all enjoying themselves," Murphy added.

The 22-year-old said that his confidence came from observing and competing with players that have previously played Test cricket for Australia. "Being around some of the guys who had played Test cricket, observing everything and competing in the nets and bowling to the Sri Lankans, I took a lot of confidence out of that and reflected and went back, trusted myself a bit more and thought 'what I've got can be good enough' and believe in that," he said.
