Suryakumar Yadav opt to bat in third T20I against Bangladesh.

Suryakumar Yadav-led India are taking on Bangladesh for the third T20I at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad where India have opted to bat first. The Men in Blue have already won the series 2-0 and now looking for a whitewash against Najmul Hossian Shanto-led Bangladesh.

Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has announced the playing XI where he added Ravi Bishnoi in place of Arshdeep Singh. Apart from this Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) speedster has also missed his spot in the playing XI.

Harshit will remain an uncapped player

Harshit Rana was unable to debut against Bangladesh, so he has also suffered a loss of crores. Because if Harshit had debuted, he would have come directly from the category of uncapped to the category of capped players. Due to this he may now have to be satisfied with the amount of four crores given to the uncapped players retained in the IPL.

How he lost crores

If he had become a capped player by featuring in this match, then the KKR team would have had to spend at least 11 crores to retain him. But as he was unable to make his debut he will be considered uncapped in the retention rules before the IPL 2025 season. For this, the BCCI had made a rule to keep the players who debut by October 31 in the category of capped players from uncapped. Now it remains to be seen whether the IPL 2024 champion KKR team retains Harshit Rana as an uncapped player or not. The Indian team will now play its next limited-overs cricket series against South Africa in November.

Why Harshit Rana not featured in 3nd T20I against Bangladesh

BCCI revealed that the speedster is unwell and he was unavailable for selection because of viral infection.

"Harshit Rana was unavailable for selection for the third T20I due to a viral infection and did not travel with the team to the stadium" said BCCI.

Captains at Toss

Suryakumar Yadav (India): We would like to bat firsst, looks a good wicket. These are the things we want to do. Set a target and defend the total with dew around. I think it's important to continue with the good habits, it will have a good impact on us. We just want to give freedom, the guys want to make an impact. Happy with the way the guys are playing. Arshdeep misses out, Bishnoi comes in.

Najmul Hossain Shanto (Bangladesh): I am happy to bowl first, toss doesn't matter. We have two changes. Tamim and Mahedi are in. We need to take responsibilities as batters. We need to improve, need to execute our plans. Hopefully, we do something special in the 40 overs.
