Samson's innings captivated the Hyderabad crowd as he showcased his exceptional batting skills, hitting 11 fours and eight sixes. He received valuable support from captain Suryakumar Yadav, who contributed a powerful 75 runs from 35 balls.

Riyan Parag, Hardik Pandya, and Rinku Singh played crucial roles in India's innings, contributing valuable runs. India's final total of 297/6 surpassed their previous highest T20I score of 261/3 against Sri Lanka in 2017. This total ranks as the second-highest in T20I history, behind Nepal's record of 314 against Mongolia in 2023.

India's total of 297/6 is the highest recorded by a full-member team in T20I history, surpassing Afghanistan's previous record of 278/3 against Ireland in 2019. India's previous best was a total of 260/5 against Sri Lanka in 2017.

Interestingly, this was the same match where Rohit Sharma achieved the fastest T20I century by an Indian, scoring 100 runs from 35 balls. Samson's 40-ball century followed closely behind, showcasing his exceptional batting skills in Hyderabad. He hit 11 fours and eight sixes during his innings, including five sixes in a single over bowled by spinner Rishad Hossain.

India, batting first, lost their opener Abhishek Sharma early in the innings. However, Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav counterattacked aggressively, forming a powerful partnership and scoring 173 runs from just 70 balls.

Following their dismissals, Hardik Pandya and Riyan Parag continued the momentum, adding 70 runs for the fourth wicket. Riyan Parag concluded the innings in style with a six off Tanzim Hasan Sakib.
