Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team is going to compete against Najmul Hossain Shanto's Bangladesh in a two-match Test series which will start on September 19 and the first Test is scheduled to be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. India is returning for their first assignment since the shocking 0-2 ODI series loss against Sri Lanka last month. This is also their first red-ball series since the five-match England series earlier this year. Ahead of the clash, India's new bowling coach Morne Morkel has joined the team.

Team India assembled at the Chepauk Stadium ahead of their clash and Morne Morkel who was not able to join the team during the Sri Lanka tour due to some personal reason also finally joined the team for his first session. Even returning to the side for the first time since the historic T20 World Cup 2024 triumph, Jasprit Bumrah was also spotted in the huddle. India is coming into this series from a loss and on the other hand, Bangladesh's confidence is all-time high with their historic series win in Pakistan. They would be eyeing a similar outing with the Men in Blue.
