India have registered a dominating 44 run win against New Zealand in their third league stage of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Varun Chakravarthy, who made his Champions Trophy debut against New Zealand, picked up a fifer that helped India to bundle out the Blackcaps on 205 runs. Chakravarthy was awarded Player of the Match for his iconic performance in Dubai.
India's semifinal scenario
Team India from Group-A defeated New Zealand by 44 runs in the last league stage match. With this, Team India, captained by Rohit Sharma, has now topped Group-A with six points from wins against Bangladesh, Pakistan and New Zealand. Team India will now face Australia in the semi-finals on March 4 at the Dubai ground. While New Zealand, which is in second place in Group-A after losing their third group stage clash against India, will face South Africa in Lahore on March 5, which has not lost a single match in the tournament so far.
India will have to overcome Australia
On the other hand, if we talk about Team India, their morale is high after three consecutive wins. Now Rohit Sharma-led side will want to make it to the finals by continuing the winning streak in the semi-final match against Australia on March 4. If India reaches the final, then the title decider will take place in Dubai. Otherwise the grand finale will take place in Pakistan's Lahore.
What happens if Champions Trophy final and semifinal washed out?
Champions Trophy 2025 final will take place on March 9 and if the clash washed out due to rain then the clash will take place on next day as ICC announced a reserve day for final and semifinal.
