Australia's Test and ODI captain Pat Cummins is highly unlikely to recover from ankle injury ahead of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 but he trolled several opposition cricketers in a promo shoot for the mega tournament. Cummins took a dig at England all-rounder Ben Stokes, batter Ollie Pope, India's Virat Kohli and South Africa's wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock. The fast-bowling all-rounder poked fun at Kohli over his strike rate.

"Oi Ben, I am not stoked about you"

"Hey Pope, you better start praying."

"Hey Kohli, I have never seen you bat this slowly."

"More Like Quinton de Block. I am Pat Cummins for you. Get mean," Cummins said in the advertisment that is going viral on social media.

Cummins unlikely to head to Pakistan

Meanwhile, one of the favourites to win the Champions Trophy 2025, Australia have been hit by injuries. With less than a week to go for the deadline to make changes to the squad, head coach Andrew McDonald has revealed that Cummins is "heavily unlikely' to play the Champions Trophy 2025.

"Pat Cummins hasn't been able to resume any type of bowling so he's heavily unlikely, so that would mean that we do need a captain," McDonald told SEN.

"Patty is hugely unlikely, which is a bit of shame, and we've also got Josh Hazlewood, who is battling [to be fit] at the moment. So that medical information will land over the next couple of days and we'll be able to shore that up and let everyone know the direction," McDonald added.

If Cummins gets ruled out of the tournament, coach McDonald said that either Steve Smith or Travis Head will lead the Australian side.
