Bumrah's absence has been keenly felt by the Indian team, as he has consistently been a key performer across all formats of the game. A video shared by the ICC on Instagram captured Bumrah's presence, showing him sharing a jovial moment with his wife, Sanjana Ganesan. He then expressed that being present as a spectator was a novel experience for him, as he is typically on the field with the team.
"I've always been on the other side of the fence," said Bumrah.
Bumrah's interaction with the Indian team continued with a friendly exchange with Virat Kohli. Kohli was heard asking Bumrah about his back to which the superstar pacer said it all okay. Bumrah inquired about Kohli's well-being, and they discussed the noticeably hotter weather conditions in Dubai compared to the previous match. Subsequently, Bumrah greeted Mohammed Shami and Axar Patel. Axar playfully teased Bumrah, suggesting he should prepare for the team's warm-up session.
The video documenting Bumrah's visit also showed him reconnecting with Hardik Pandya and Shikhar Dhawan, further highlighting his close relationship with the Indian cricket team.
Jasprit Bumrah took the opportunity to pose for photographs with his recently awarded ICC accolades, having been recognized as both the Player of the Year and the Test Player of the Year.
Even without Bumrah's presence on the field, India ended up bulldozing Pakistan by six wicket to make it to the Champions Trophy 2025 semifinal.
Indian bowling attack effectively dismissed Pakistan for a total of 241 runs. Kuldeep Yadav led the charge with three wickets, while Hardik Pandya contributed with two. For Pakistan, Saud Shakeel played a crucial innings of 62 runs, receiving valuable support from Mohammad Rizwan, who scored 46. In reply, Virat Kohli brought his 51st ODI century to help India chase down the total in 42.3 overs.
India will next face New Zealand on March 2, while Pakistan, who are staring at the possible elimination, will face Bangladesh on February 27.
