Pakistan vs Bangladesh's Champions Trophy clash has been called off

Thus, both Pakistan and Bangladesh signed off Champions Trophy without a single win

Another Champions Trophy clash got washed out, this time it was Group A match between Pakistan and Bangladesh which was scheduled to be held at Rawalpindi cricket stadium on February 27. The Pakistan versus Bangladesh match was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to persistent rain. The game, slated to commence at 2:30 p.m. local time in Rawalpindi, was ultimately called off as the persistent adverse weather conditions rendered play impossible.

The region's heavy rainfall has proven to be a big challenge for the tournament organisers.

The abandonment of the Pakistan versus Bangladesh fixture mirroring the earlier washout of Australia's encounter with South Africa.

It marked a disappointing end for both Pakistan and Bangladesh, who had already been eliminated from the Champions Trophy following consecutive losses in their opening matches. Pakistan, the tournament hosts and defending champions, suffered defeats to New Zealand and India, ultimately finishing at the bottom of Group A with a single point. Bangladesh, similarly, were unable to secure a win, losing to both India and New Zealand, placing them third in their group.

Looking ahead, the focus shifts to Lahore, where Afghanistan and Australia are set to clash on Friday, February 28th. This pivotal match will determine which team advances to the semi-finals. Australia currently holds the second position in Group B, having secured a victory against England and experiencing the aforementioned washout. Afghanistan, after a heavy loss to South Africa, revitalized their campaign with a crucial eight-run win against England, keeping their hopes of progression alive. The upcoming match is therefore of paramount importance to both teams.
