The South Delhi Superstarz (SDS) have achieved an extraordinary feat in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2024 T20 tournament.
308 runs in DPL match
Co-owned by Shikhar Dhawan, Delhi Superstarz set a new DPL record by scoring a mammoth 308 runs in their stipulated 20 overs against the North Delhi Strikers (NDS) riding on 30 sixes and 19 fours.
Ayushi Badoni- Priyansh Arya wreak havoc
The South Delhi Superstarz duo of Ayush Badoni and Priyansh Arya delivered a truly unforgettable performance, setting a record for the highest partnership in the Delhi Premier League. Their partnership of 286 runs in just 99 balls was a testament to their exceptional batting skills.
The North Delhi Strikers bowlers were completely overwhelmed by the sheer power and precision of Badoni and Arya's hitting. The Arun Jaitley Stadium was electrified by Priyansh Arya's historic six sixes in an over against Manan Bhardwaj. Apart from Pranshu Vijayran, none of the North Delhi bowlers managed an economy rate below 10. If Siddharth Solanki hadn't conceded only 9 runs in the final over, the world record for the highest team total in a T20 match could have been in jeopardy.
Raining sixes and fours
The South Delhi Superstarz's dominance in the first innings was truly remarkable. Out of the 120 balls bowled, an astonishing 31 balls cleared the boundary ropes, with 19 of them going for fours. This translates to a total of 49 sixes and fours combined. Ayush Badoni and Priyansh Arya deserve the lion's share of the credit for this extraordinary performance. Badoni's unbeaten 165 runs set a new record for the highest individual score by an Indian in T20 cricket, while Arya's second century in the DPLT20 further highlighted their exceptional batting abilities.
