Shakib, the controversial figure in cricketing world, has once again made headlines for losing his cool. Earlier, this week Shakib was spotted beating a fan mercilessly during a promotional event in Chattogram where a crowd turned out in numbers just to get a glimpse of their favourite cricketing star.

The 35-year-old seemed to lose his temper and attacked one of the fans in the crowd and hit him multiple times with his cap before being escorted away.

Shakib's on and off field's antics have always kept him close to controversies. Several times, Shakib has been seen fighting with the umpires in an animated fashion. Earlier, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan had also confirmed a ‘rift’ between Shakib and Tamim Iqbal, two of the senior Bangladesh stars.

As far his cricket is concerned, Shakib is currently spearheading Bangladesh in the three-match T20I series against England. On March 9, Shakib led Bangladesh to a stunning six-wicket victory over the visitors England in the T20I series opener.

Najmul Hossain Shanto scored 51 runs off 30 balls to help Bangladesh beat the T20I champions by chasing 157 with 12 balls to spare. Shakib too contributed with a valuable 34 not out off 24 balls. Earlier, Jos Buttler scored 67 off 42 balls as England were restricted to 156/6 in 20 overs against Bangladesh at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram. Hasan Mahmud was the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh with figures of 2/26.

"The way we approached the game was fantastic, can't ask more from our team. When we were bowling, we were under the pump but no one panicked. Everyone knew what they needed to do. All the bowlers stuck to their plans. Other than my dropped catch, everyone fielded really well. (No fear approach) That's what we want to do. In T20s, when you don't think too much, you perform well. That's the environment we are trying to create in the dressing room. Hopefully, we can continue this. This is a very good start. If you think about 2024, we'll be playing the World Cup in West Indies. We can build on from here. We can only get better so that we can put a very good team when the World Cup comes,” skipper Shakib had said after the match.

Before the T20I series started, England clinched the three-match ODI series 2-1 against Bangladesh. Shakib's Bangladesh will next face England in the second T20I which will be played on March 12.
