Mark Wood claimed that victory in Hyderabad was one of their greatest-ever wins.

Wood is expecting a response from India in the remaining matches.

England fast bowler Mark Wood has said that England have given India something to think about after the outcome in Hyderabad and labelled this victory as one of the team's greatest triumphs.

England pulled off a memorable victory against India at Hyderabad in the first Test of the series. After trailing by 190 runs, England made a great comeback on the back of a brilliant century by Ollie Pope, who scored 196 runs giving India a target of 231 to win. Later, debutant spinner Tom Hartley took seven wickets as England won the match by 28 runs.

“They now have to come up with a different plan,” the fast bowler said.

“We've only won one game and there are five in the series. We've proved to India it will be a battle and we're not going to give up,” he further added while speaking to BBC Sport.

"It's one of our greatest wins," the 34-year-old said after England took a lead 1-0 in the opening Test.

"People were a little bit sceptical before but there was always belief in the group."

"We knew it was going to be a huge task, which it was, but it's a monumental achievement. Now we know we can do it and we have given India something to think about”, he further added.

Despite the win the English fast bowler is expecting a response from the hosts.

"They are a top team," added Wood. "Even coming here before the series, everyone expects India to roll us over."

"I don't know what pitch they will produce. India have got the potential to produce any wicket here, but now we've given them something to think about."

"It's not a foregone conclusion that we are going to turn up here and they're gonna spin us out."

The second Test between India and England will be held in Vizag, scheduled to begin on February 2.
