Rahul Dravid was questioned about Virat Kohli's return for the last three Tests vs England.

Earlier, Virat Kohli pulled out of the first two Tests against England.

Following an emphatic 106-run victory over England, the most pressing question on the minds of Indian cricket fans revolves around Virat Kohli's availability for the final three matches of the ongoing five-match series against Ben Stokes-led side. However, AB de Villiers' recent revelation about Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are expecting their second child gave Indian fans a clear picture about batting maestro's absence in first two Tests against England.

Rahul Dravid remains tightlipped on Virat Kohli's availability

However, when questioned about Kohli's availability for the remaining three Tests against England, India's head coach Rahul Dravid opted to keep mum, suggesting that the selectors are better suited to address this burning question.

Notably, Kohli pulled out of the first two Tests against England, citing personal reason. However, recently it was learnt that BCCI will seek Kohli's availability for the third Test as they haven't heart anything from the former India skipper as yet.

As per the BCCI's statement, Kohli communicated with India captain Rohit Sharma and the team management, expressing that although playing for his country is his utmost priority, he currently needs to focus his complete attention on personal matters.

Despite the BCCI's appeal to fans and the media to refrain from spreading rumors about Kohli's absence, there were widespread speculations last week suggesting that the Indian cricket star had missed the first two Tests because of his mother's poor health. However, his brother Vikas Kohli subsequently provided clarification on social media.

During a conversation on his YouTube channel regarding the events of Day 3 in the second Test match between India and England, De Villiers shared that Kohli is presently with Anushka as they are anticipating the arrival of their second child. He also praised his former Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate for placing his family as a top priority.

"Yes, his second child is on the way. Yes, it's family time and things are important to him. If you are not true and genuine to yourself, you lose track of what you are here for. I think most people's priority is family. You can't judge Virat for that. Yes, we miss him. But he has made absolutely the right decision," De Villiers said.

The significant revelation quickly raised inquiries about whether Kohli would choose to participate in the upcoming three Tests against England.

No clarity on Kohli's return

Nevertheless, Dravid remained silent in the presence of the gathered reporters at the Vizag press room, preserving the element of suspense.

"I think it's best to ask the selectors. I am sure they are the best people to answer ahead of the team selection for the next three Tests. We will get to that. I am sure there will be selection over the next few days. We will connect with him and find out," Dravid said after India's victory over England in second Test.

IND vs ENG's 3rd Test set to start from Feb. 15

India will enjoy a 10-day break before the commencement of the third match in Rajkot, scheduled for February 15. The BCCI selectors are expected to have a discussion with Kohli prior to announcing the squad for the remaining three matches.
