Star India batter Yashasvi Jaiswal won the Player of the Month award for February, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on March 12 (Tuesday). Jaiswal pipped New Zealand's Kane Williamson and Sri Lanka's Pathum Nissanka to win the award for India. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released a video on its social media platform X to celebrate the achievement of Jaiswal.

"I'm really happy to achieve ICC award and I hope I will be getting more in future," Jaiswal said in the video released by the BCCI.

"It's one of the best and this is my first five-match series series.

"I really enjoyed it, the way I have played and the way it's been and we won the series by 4-1. It's been an incredible experience with all my mates And I really enjoyed it," he added.

A historic series for Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal was in scorching touch with the bat during the recently concluded five-match Test series against England. Apart from becoming only the second Indian batter ever to score 700-plus runs in a Test series, the left-handed aggressive batter smashed several other records and enthralled onlookers with his prodigious talent.

In February, Jaiswal scored double centuries in back-to-back Tests and gave an account of his rare talent. During one of his double-century knocks which came in Rajkot, Jaiswal created history and equalled Wasim Akram's record of most sixes hit by a batter in a Test inning.

Jaiswal dominated England bowlers

Playing his natural game, Jaiswal proved to be a menace for the England bowlers, who had no answers to the 22-year-old sensation. Overall, the southpaw scored 712 runs in nine innings at a fabulous average of 89.

It was Jaiswal's six-hitting prowess that delighted onlookers during the series against England. The left-handed batter smashed 26 sixes, which is by far the most any batter has hit in a Test series.Ā
