Gavaskar's remark on Rohit and Afridi

Shahid Afridi, a former Pakistani all-rounder who hit 351 sixes in the ODIs throughout his storied career, is on top of this list followed by the Indian captain.

Legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar, speaking about Rohit catching up to his enormous record, made a subtle jab at Shahid when the graphic of the most sixes in ODIs displayed during the program. Afridi's repeated retirement u-turns in the past were the subject of a taunt from Gavaskar.

"If Rohit Sharma closes in the gap then Afridi might be tempted to come out of retirement," Gavaskar said during commentary.

Rohit Sharma's century

Meanwhile, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma silenced all his critics after returning to form and smashing a century in the second ODI. He showed glimpses of Rohit Sharma everyone was admiring during the ODI World Cup 2023 and T20 World Cup 2024. The Indian skipper has now also become the top 10 ODI highest run scorers of all time. He surpasses Rahul Dravid to enter the list. He needed 22 runs to get over Dravid in the 50-over format and he did that after smashing the third six of his innings.
