India's young batter Abhishek Sharma smashed a 37-ball century during the fifth T20I against England at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

India's young batter Abhishek Sharma who scored 144 runs in the four T20Is against England smashed a hard-hitting 37-ball century in the fifth T20I at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. With this, he becomes India's second-fastest batter to reach the 100-run mark in international cricket. India ODI and Test captain Rohit Sharma holds the record for the fastest T20I tons as he smashed a 35-ball century against Sri Lanka in 2017. Abhishek smashed 10 maximums and five fours in his second century. 

Former India cricketers including Wasim Jaffar lavished praise on the India star for his brilliant knock against England in the fifth T20I against England. 

Abhishek's mentor Yuvraj Singh tops the tally of the fastest T20I fifty by any India batter as he scored 50 runs off just 12 balls in the inaugural T20 World Cup against England. The record belongs to Nepal's Dipendra Singh Airee, who scored 50 off 9 balls.

Coming back to the match, After asked to bat, India opener Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma started smashing the English bowlers to all over the ground but Jofra Archer picked up the wicketkeeper batter's wicket. Despite an early breakthrough, Abhishek Sharma continued his destructive batting to put pressure on the visitors.
