Cricketing legend Yuvraj Singh lavished praise on Abhishek Sharma for his performance during the 1st T20I against England at Eden Gardens Kolkata. Abhishek Sharma scored 79 off 34 deliveries that helped the Suryakumar Yadav-led side chase down 133 runs with more than seven overs remaining. 

After India's dominating seven-wicket win during the first T20I, former India cricket Yuvraj who coached Abhishek took his 'X' (formerly known as Twitter) to praise the team's performance. He also mentioned his student Abhishek for his hard-hitting knock in Kolkata.

Abhishek smashed eight maximums and four boundaries in his hard-hitting knock. He stitched an 84-run stand with India No. 3 Tilak Verma as India chased down the target of 133 runs in just 12.5 overs. With this, Abhishek became the second Indian batter to get the fastest fifty against England in T20Is as he reached the mark on 20 balls.

Abhishek's mentor, Yuvraj Singh, tops the tally, having reached the fifty-run mark in just 12 deliveries during the 2007 World T20 game in Durban. In that game, he smashed six consecutive sixes in an over against Stuart Broad.

After Abhishek's batting domination, India managed to chase down the 133-run mark with 43 balls remaining. With most balls left, this was India's fastest and most successful chase against England in men's Twenty20 Internationals.

Team India are currently leading 1-0 in the five T20I series and the second T20I will take place at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
