Teenager Rehan Ahmed became the youngest men's Test debutant for England on December 17 (Saturday) when he was handed his maiden Test cap moments before the 3rd Test match between Pakistan and the Three Lions in Karachi. At 18 years and 126 days, Ahmed overhauled legendary English captain Brian Close's mark, who was 18 years and 149 days when he was handed his maiden Test cap in 1949. When it comes to the youngest-ever England Test debutant (men and women included), Holly Colvin holds the record as she was just 15 years and 336 days when she made he debut against Australia in 2005.

Ahmed's name is now listed among some of the true greats of the game, who appeared in the international arena at a fairly young age. We take a closer look at the youngest cricketers to feature in Test cricket for each country.

Until someone else comes along the ranks, Rehan Ahmed will boast the record of becoming the youngest-ever men's Test cricketer for England.

India - Sachin Tendulkar

For India, Sachin Tendulkar holds the record of being the youngest Test cricketer. Sachin made his debut at the age of 16 years and 205 days in a match against Pakistan in 1989.

Australia - Ian Craig

For Australia, Ian Craig holds the record of being the youngest Test cricketer. Craig made his debut at the age of 17 years and 239 days in a match against South Africa in 1953.

Pakistan - Hasan Raza

For Pakistan, Hazan Raza holds the record of being the youngest Test cricketer. Raza made his debut at the age of 14 years and 227 days in a Test match against Zimbabwe in 1996.

New Zealand - Daniel Vettori

For New Zealand, Daniel Vettori holds the record of being the youngest Test cricketer. Vettori made his debut at the age of 18 years and 10 days in a match against England in 1997.

South Africa - Paul Adams

For South Africa, Paul Adams holds the record of being the youngest Test cricketer. Adams made his debut at the age of 18 years and 340 days in a match against England in 1995.

West Indies - James Edward Sealy

For West Indies, James Edward Sealy holds the record of being the youngest Test cricketer. Sealy made his debut at the age of 17 years and 122 days in a match against England in 1930.
