In a moment that demonstrated not only the perils of cricket but also the importance of safety gear, a fast bouncer by Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf lodged itself in the grills of England batter Harry Brook, preventing him from sustaining a major injury.

The incident took place during the third T20I between the two sides on Friday. It was a scary moment for players from both teams as the bouncer from Rauf got stuck in the top grille. An inch more and Brook might have suffered a serious injury. Seeing the ball get stuck in the batter's helmet, Rauf immediately rushed to him to ensure that the Englishman was ok.

He was also joined by Pakistan wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan, who reached out to Brook to ask him if everything was fine. Rauf later hugged Brook as he came to know that the Englishman was unhurt.

Pakistan Cricket shared the video of the incident on social media, “Caught in the grille.” “Brook gets a hug from Rauf after the sharp bouncer.”

Brook was the star as England retook a 2-1 lead in the series, scoring a stunning 35-ball 81 to fire the team to a total of 221 runs in 20 overs. Ben Duckett (70 off 42) and Will Jacks (40 of 22) also contributed to their total.

"It was very nice to get out there and get a match-winning performance in tonight. It was quite similar to the other night, every pitch has been similar. The key was having a solid gameplan and sticking to it, get on the front foot as often as you can. He’s so good against spin, it’s ridiculous and I was trying to get him on strike as much as I can [on Duckett]," he said in the post-match presentation ceremony.

Chasing the target, Pakistan were restricted to 158/8, with Shan Masood being the hosts' top-scoring batter (66 runs off 40 balls).
