Sajid Khan, Noman Ali repeat Multan show in Rawalpindi to beat England at home after 18 years, win series 2-1

Shan Masood-led Pakistan cricket team put an end to their dismal run in red-ball cricket at home after beating Ben Stokes' England in the third and final Test of the series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, on October 26 (Saturday). The spin duo of Sajid Ali and Noman Ali repeated their stunning spin show from Multan in this match as well. This is their first Test series win at home since 2021 and first Test series win at home against England since 2006.

Bazball trapped in Pakistan's spin web

This was the first occasion in hitory when Pakistan's fast bowlers did not bowl a single ball during a Test match. Sajid Ali, Noman Ali, Zahid Mahmood, and Agha Salman were the only bowlers used by Shan Masood in the third Test and all of them were spinners. Sajid picked up his second consecutive 10-wicket haul. Noman Ali also settled with 9 wickets which also included a 6-fer in the second innings. This was the fourth match in Pakistan history and second straight match where all 20 wickets were taken by thier spinners in a Test match.

Pakistan comfortably chase 36 runs target

After bowling out England for 267 runs in the first innings, Pakistan was also in a tricky spot but they were saved by Saud Shakeel, who scored a crucial 134 runs and helped their team in posting 344 runs. Then in the second innings, England was reduced to 112 runs. 

The hosts only needed 36 runs to win and they comfortably chased it down at the loss of just one wicket and won the match by 9 wickets.
