Dinesh Karthik said that that ball nipping back into the right-handed batter is probably the best way to catch Shubman Gill off guard.

Team India wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik, who is currently part of the commentary panel in the ongoing ODI World Cup, offered a pivotal suggestion to bowlers on how to dismiss three of India's best batters early in their innings. Karthik doubled down on the dismissals of Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer in the recently concluded match against England in Lucknow and highlighted what can bowlers do to taste success against the Indian troika.

Talking about Gill, Karthik said that that ball nipping back into the right-handed batter is probably the best way to catch the stylish youngster off guard.

Talking about maverick batter Kohli, Karthik said that it is important for bowlers to build pressure on the former Indian captain when he is new to the crease. Bowling dot balls and not allowing Kohli to rotate the strike is the best bet for the bowlers to dismiss Kohli. Once Kohli gets bogged down, his attempt at the pressure-releasing shot can bring around his wicket.

Talking about Iyer, Karthik once again highlighted the right-handed batter's discomfort against the short balls or the back of the length deliveries. Iyer has been dismissed thrice on short deliveries in this World Cup.

In the game against England on October 29 (Sunday), Chris Woakes dismissed Gill with a nip-backer while Kohli was dismissed for a nine-ball duck by David Willey. Iyer was dismissed on four run by Woakes' back of a length delivery which the Indian batter tried to pull.

Meanwhile, India secured their sixth victory in the World Cup 2023 by defeating England with a stunning 100-run win. While Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav played important roles in India's triumph, the rest of the Indian batsmen faced challenges on a challenging pitch. Nevertheless, it was the Indian bowlers who stole the show, dismantling England's batting lineup and sealing India's spot in the semi-finals.
