Journalists and cricket fans from Pakistan faced challenges in obtaining visas from the Indian authorities for the ongoing ODI World Cup. Given the strained relations between the two neighboring countries, it was reported that the Indian government has granted only a limited number of visas to Pakistani nationals. Echoing these sentiments, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has voiced its concerns to the International Cricket Council (ICC), requesting a resolution to the visa restrictions. While a select few Pakistani enthusiasts have been fortunate to secure visas, their experience in India has been bittersweet.

Talking about the match, Pakistan faced a daunting task after Australia set a monstrous target of 368 runs. The Australian batting lineup, spearheaded by openers David Warner and Mitchell Marsh, put on an impressive show. Warner's explosive 163 off 124 deliveries, punctuated with 14 boundaries and 9 sixes, was perfectly complemented by Marsh's 121 off 108 balls. Their partnership contributed a staggering 259 runs for the opening wicket.

At one point, Australia seemed poised to go past 400-run mark. Nonetheless, Pakistan's Shaheen Afridi managed to put a dent in their acceleration with a brilliant five-wicket haul, curbing Australia to 367/9 by the end of their innings.

In response to this formidable total, Pakistan kicked off their chase on a promising note with Abdullah Shafique and Imam Ul Haq notching a 134-run partnership of 134 runs for the opening wicket. However, Abdullah perished after scorning a brilliant 64 off 61. Imam too followed the suit and returned to pavilion after scoring 71 off 70. But Pakistan's chase took a major hit after Adam Zampa spun a web around Babar Azam to pick his wicket to leave them reeling at 175/3.
