Netherlands captain Scott Edwards won the all-important toss and elected to bat against Bangladesh in the ODI World Cup fixture at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on October 28 (Saturday). Netherlands made two changes to their playing XI that featured in the previous match. Shariz Ahmad and Wesley Barresi replaced Teja Nidamanuru and Roelof van der Merwe. For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed returned to the playing XI in place of Hasan Mahmud while Mahedi Hasan replaced Nasum Ahmed.
