Former Indian wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik returned to the Indian dressing room after a long time to give the special best-fielder medal to star wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant after the clash between India and England in the second semi-final of the ongoing edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Providence Stadium in Guyana, on June 27 (Thursday). This was Pant's second best-fielder medal, he previously also received it for the IND vs PAK game in New York.

Rishabh Pant received the best fielder medal from Dinesh Karthik. The star player was involved in the important dismissal of Jos Buttler and Moeen Ali. He took the important catch of England's captain and did a smart stumping against Ali. His attentiveness helped India with two crucial breakthroughs. Dinesh Karthik also joked about how having him for the medal ceremony after the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Sir Vivian Richards is like a downgrade and now aliens and UFOs are the only two things that have not been involved in this special award ceremony.

England asked Team India to bat first after winning the toss but it backfired on them as the Men in Blue scored 171/7 in 20 overs with the help of Rohit Sharma's half-century and good innings from Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya. Then in the second innings, the Indian spinners Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets each and played the crucial role in bowling out England for just 103 runs and helped India to win the match by 68 runs. Jasprit Bumrah grabbed two crucial wickets as well. Now the Indian team will face South Africa in the Final of T20 World Cup 2024 which will be held in Barbados.
