Rising young star Rinku Singh's exclusion from the Indian cricket team's 15-member T20 World Cup 2024 squad shocked everyone. Ajit Agarkar reveals reason behind Rinku Singh's snub
Rinku Singh's snub from the Indian squad shattered many hearts and now Agarkar has revealed why he couldn't give the dynamic batter a slot in the 15. However, he did acknowledge how tough and close it was when the discussion came around Rinku. He said they made this decision so the Indian captain Rohit Sharma could have two wrist spinners for the Caribbean conditions.
“Rinku Singh exclusion was the toughest decision. It's got nothing to do with Rinku. We felt Rohit can have an extra spin option with two wrist spinners. He is in the reserves so that's how close he was,” said Ajit Agarkar during the press conference for India's T20 World Cup 2024 squad.
