The highly-octane clash will be played at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

Rain has delayed the toss of the T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan which is scheduled to be played at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on June 9. 

 

Toss to take place at 8 PM IST

 

The covers are still on and the pitch inspection to take place at 10:45 AM Local Time (07.45 PM IST). 

 

In another update, later it was learnt that the toss, which was earlier scheduled at 7:30 IST, will now take place at 8 PM IST as the covers is being removed with the rain getting subsided.  However, for now there is no fear of overs deduction yet. If the match does not start by 9 PM IST, overs will be reduced.

Earlier, Accuweather had predicted 61 per cent chance of rain in New York at 10 am local time. That is 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the match, which is 10.30 am. And while the rain is expected to recede at 11 am, thunderstorms have been predicted to take place during the match, which could threaten a washout.

No reserve day: Unfortunately, there aren't any designated reserve days for the group stage or Super Eight matches in this tournament.
Extended play possible: If rain disrupts the match, organizers can extend playtime by 90 minutes to try and complete it.
Points in case of washout: If the match gets completely washed out, both India and Pakistan will be awarded 1 point each. This would leave India with 3 points (assuming they won their first match) and Pakistan with their first point of the tournament.
