The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the national squad for the upcoming big-ticket ICC T20 World Cup on September 12 (Monday). Along with announcing the squad for the ICC tournament, the country's cricket board also announced India's squad for the upcoming T20I series against Australia and South Africa, both of which are scheduled to be played at home.

While the World Cup squad didn't have any surprises, the T20I squads for the bilateral series against Australia and South Africa had strategic omissions. Left-arm seamer Arshdeep Singh, who was named in the T20 World Cup squad, will not be a part of India's squad for the T20I series against Australia while Hardik Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were not included in India's squad for the T20I series against South Africa.

Meanwhile, Arshdeep was named in India's squad for the South Africa series while Hardik and Bhuvneshwar were named in the squad for the Australia series. So what is the reason behind this move?

In its release, the BCCI stated that "Hardik Pandya, Arshdeep Singh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be reporting to the NCA (National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru) for conditioning-related work during the course of the home series against Australia and South Africa."

This means that the Indian cricket board is managing the workload of the three players, who have played relentless cricket this year.
