Team India is gearing up for the highly anticipated T20 World Cup 2022 which is slated to kick off from October 16. Coming from an Asia Cup fiasco, India will leave no stone unturned to grab the coveted title once again.

Meanwhile, South Africa legendary cricketer Jacques Kallis has talked up Team India's chances in the upcoming T20 World Cup which will be played in Australia.

Kallis feels that India have a good chance at the World Cup and could be one of the favourites in the tournament. The former star all-rounder also said that the Indian team has played some good T20 cricket and will be one of the frontrunners to win the World Cup.

Rohit Sharma-led India currently rule the ICC T20I rankings and sit at the summit of the standings. However, their current performance has a different story to tell and doesn't justify the spot.

Despite starting the just-concluded Asia Cup's campaign on a stunning note with two wins in two, the Men in Blue men struggled in the Super Fours stage with back-to-back defeats to Pakistan and Sri Lanka as they suffered an early ouster from the tournament, missing their shot at another Asian title.

“India have played some very good T20 cricket and they will be one of the favourites, no doubt, but there is a bit of luck in the World Cup. I think India does have a team to be the favourite. They are a good sort. In the World Cup, you need luck to go your way and you need to play big moments. Certainly, they do have a chance to win it," said Kallis.

Kallis also opened up on the impact of spinners during the tournament. The former all-rounder feels that there will be periods in the game where both spinners and pacers will dominate the game.

“I think every team will have periods and games where spinners or seamers will dominate," said Kallis.

Team India will play five games in the Super 12 stage or group stage. India sits in Group 2 with Pakistan, Bangladesh, South Africa, and two more.

India's squad for T20 World Cup: Rohit Sharma (c), KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik, Hardik Pandya, R Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh. Standby Players: Mohammad Shami, Shreyas Iyer, Ravi Bishnoi, Deepak Chahar.
