On Friday, October 4, 2024, Harmanpreet Kaur-led India will kick off their Women's T20 World Cup campaign. Aside from England and Australia, the Indian team, who is vying for their first championship, is among the favorites to win the trophy at the commencement of the tournament. This time around, India will not be participating in the tournament's first match. The United Arab Emirates will host the Women's T20 World Cup 2024 beginning on October 3rd. The opening match will pit hosts Bangladesh against tournament newcomers Scotland. Ten teams total, split into Group A and Group B, will compete in the ninth Women's T20 World Cup.
The marquee event was shifted from Bangladesh to the UAE due to a political issue in the country. Despite the last-minute alteration, the league will follow its original schedule, with 23 matches spread over 18 days and a final on October 20 to become the new T20 World Champion. Although Australia, India, and England are considered the tournament favorites, the other teams will also try to win the ultimate ICC trophy and leave their mark.
