Mohammad Kaif praised Rohit Sharma's captaincy

Former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif lavished praise on Rohit Sharma's captaincy after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) appointed Shubman Gill as his sucessor to lead the Men in Blue in ODIs. Gill, who was appointed India's Test captain before the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 in England, will start his first ODI assignment as a skipper in the upcoming three-match series against Australia.

Kaif, who was a member of the Indian team that was one of the joint-winners of the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy, which the title was also shared with Sri Lanka, took his 'X' to laud Rohit's legacy and leadership qualities.

"Rohit the captain leaves behind a legacy that is tough to emulate. He built a team that played fearless cricket, didn't panic in pressure situations and walked the extra mile to put together a happy dressing room. A true leader, he had grace and class" wrote Mohammad Kaif.
