Mitchell Marsh was all praise for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli after India's 9-wicket win in 3rd ODI

While Rohit cracked a splendid ton, Virat scored a brilliant fifty in India's winning cause

The dazzling duo of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli proved why they are dubbed the best white-ball batters in the world, and rightly so they combined to script an emphatic nine-wicket win over Australia in the third ODI at the SCG on October 25.

After failing to fully capitalise in the first two ODIs, despite Rohit's decent knock of 73 in the second match, the veteran batting pair finally came together for India in the final game. They successfully steered the team to a chase of 237, wrapping up the victory in the 39th over.

Even Australia captain Mitchell Marsh, who had already secured the series 2-0 after the second match in Adelaide, watching the pair dismantle his team must have felt like a familiar sight. He remarked that it was "like watching a movie" he had been seeing repeatedly for the last decade or more, underscoring the enduring dominance of the two Indian legends.

"We've seen Rohit and Virat do that over 10 years against lots of teams. We needed one more stand in the back-end of our first innings. Had a great platform at 3-195. Couldn't cash in. India too good with bat," Marsh said at the post-match presentation.

RO-KO roars as India bulldoze Australia

Chasing a target of 237, Rohit cracked a superb 121 and Virat played a fluent knock of 74 to overhaul the target with 69 balls to spare. The victory marked Shubman Gill's first series win as India's ODI captain.

Earlier, Australia were bowled out for 236 in 46.4 overs after failing to capitalize on a solid platform. Despite reaching 3-195 at one stage, the hosts suffered a collapse that severely hampered their total in the back-end of the innings. Mitchell Marsh was the top-scorer for Australia with 41. But it was Harshit Rana's four-fer which broke Australia's back.

For his masterful century, Rohit was rightly named the Player of the Match. With the ODI series concluded, both teams will now turn their attention to the upcoming T20I series, which is set to begin on October 29.
