There were reports that Shami will feature in the upcoming Test series against New Zealand but the speedster has given more rest before India's upcoming tour to Australia.

After finishing the three Test matches against New Zealand, India will play five Test match series against Australia where the Rohit-led side will look for a Test series win hattrick on Australian soil. If India manages to win this series then they will become the first Asian team who win three consecutive Test series against Australia on their home soil.
