India captain Rohit Sharma who is set to miss the first Test match against Australia will join the squad on November 24 during Perth Test. The Indian skipper is currently in Mumbai and his departure to Australia was delayed because of the birth of his second child.
As per Cricbuzz, skipper Rohit Sharma is all set to fly out to Australia in the coming days. He is expected to join the team in Perth on November 24, the third day of the first Test at Optus Stadium. Rohit has informed the concerned authorities in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that he would join the squad on Sunday.
In the absence of Rohit, Jasprit Bumrah will lead India in the Perth Test. Team India is scheduled to play five Test match series against Australia. The upcoming series is important for Men in Blue citing the World Test Championship (WTC) final which will take place next year in England.
Team India needs to register a 4-0 win in the five-Test match series to seal their spot for the WTC final without depending on other teams' results.
