The third Test match between Australia and India ended in a draw after rain disrupted the play at the Gabba on December 18. But superstar batter Travis Head gave Australia a massive injury scare after he was seen in discomfort while batting in the second innings. He was spotted limping, raising concerns about a possible groin injury. Head's absence from the field during India's batting innings added to the injury worries.
Travis Head to miss 4th Test against India?
However, later Head came up with a big update on his injury concerns and made it clear that it's just a sore, nothing else.
“It’s been a big couple of weeks and I’m a bit sore, but I’ll be fine,” Head said, as quoted by Fox Sports.
Meanwhile, Australia captain Pat Cummins also confirmed that Travis Head is dealing with a tight quad muscle. Despite this, the 30-year-old is expected to recover in time for the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne.
Head tonked the second century (152) of the series in Brisbane, but his efforts went in vain as the constant rain interruptions ultimately resulted in a draw. India narrowly avoided a follow-on thanks to the exceptional bowling performances of Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep.

Notably, Head is currently leads the run-scoring charts in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy with 409 runs.
On being asked about his performance, Head said:
"I just try to sum up the conditions well. What I've done well this series is assess the conditions. Pleased with the tempo I've batted with. Felt like he was back in his rhythm, and he gives me full freedom and confidence knowing he's going to be there for a long while. I feel like I am playing the situation in front of me."
Talking about the match, the third Test match between Australia and India at the Gabba was forced to a draw due to persistent rain. On the final day, Australia dismissed Akash Deep and then came to bat and aggressively scored quick runs to set India a challenging target. However, their momentum faltered, leaving them at 89/7 before declaring their innings, setting India a target of 275 runs to win. India faced only 2.1 overs, scoring eight runs, before play was halted due to fading light. Unfortunately, heavy rain subsequently prevented any further play, resulting in the match ending in a draw.
India and Australia will lock horns with each other again in the fourth Test at the MCG which is scheduled to start from December 26.
