Rohit Sharma-led India are supposed to travel to Brisbane from Adelaide for the third Test match which is scheduled to take place at The Gabba from December 14. Team India was supposed to depart from their hotel (Intercontinental) at 8:30 AM. The team was supposed to travel to the airport in two buses. All the players and support staff had already boarded the bus.
As per sources close to Sports Tak, coach Gambhir, chief selector Ajit Agarkar, and captain Rohit Sharma, along with the whole Team India, were present in the hotel lobby as per the scheduled time. But Yashasvi was missing. Generally, Yashasvi, who usually adheres to time strictly, does not make such mistakes, but for some unknown reason on Wednesday, he was unable to reach the lobby on time.
After Jaiswal's delay, India captain Rohit Sharma got furious and get off the bus and and directed the support staff to find Yashasvi. The manager and the team's security officer also got off the bus. After a brief discussion, everyone sat back in the bus, and it was set off without Yashasvi Jaiswal.
About 20 minutes later, Yashasvi arrived at the hotel lobby and saw that the bus had already left without him. However, the team management had arranged for a car for him, and the team's senior security officer departed with Yashasvi in the car to the airport.
Apart from Yashavi, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah who came with their family on the ongoing tour had travelled to Brisbane on the same day via chartered aircraft.
The ongoing Test series is important for India to seal their spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) Final which is scheduled to take place next year. India need to win all the remaining matches to confirm their berth for WTC final for the third consecutive time which is scheduled to take place in England.
