Harry Brook surpasses Ben Stokes on elite list with sensational century against India in Oval Test
Brook has now scored 9 centuries in the World Test Championship, the second-most for an England batter in the ICC tournament

England batter Harry Brook scored a brilliant century against India during the fourth day of Oval Test. The batter's fiery knock of 111 runs from just 98 deliveries included 14 boundaries and two maximums. The 26-year-old's hundred saw the hosts close in on the target of 374.

Not only did Brook score a sensational hundred, he also formed a massive 195-run partnership with Joe Root, who would also go on to bring up his century later in the day. The stand definitely changed the course of the game and saw England completely dominate against the Indian bowling attack.

The century saw Brook surpass Ben Stokes and become the England player with the second-most centuries in the World Test Championship. The former has now got a total of 9 centuries in the tournament so far and is only behind Root in the list.

Brook finished the five-match assignment against India with 481 runs in 9 innings. He also finished as the second-highest run-scorer for the Three Lions only behind Root's tally of 537 runs. The 26-year-old scored two centuries and half-centuries each in the ffive-match series against the Men in Blue.

Additionally, Brook is also the the fifth-highest run-scorer for England in the World Test Championship with a total of 2424 runs under his name in 26 Tests. The batter has a blistering average of 55.09 in the ICC tournament with the highest individual score of 317.
