The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has officially announced the venues for the Men's Asia Cup 2025, which will be held in the United Arab Emirates. Despite ongoing controversy regarding India's decision to play Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor, the tournament is set to proceed as planned from September 9-28.
Asia Cup 2025's venues announced
The highly anticipated group stage match between India and Pakistan will take place on September 14 at the Dubai International Stadium. The tournament will kick off with the opening fixture between Afghanistan and Hong Kong in Abu Dhabi, and the final will be held in Dubai on September 28. This T20 format tournament will also serve as a crucial preparatory event for teams ahead of next year's World Cup.
There's a strong possibility of India and Pakistan clashing more than once during the tournament. Following their initial group stage match, they could potentially face each other again in the Super Fours round. If both teams advance to the final, it would set up a third high-stakes encounter between the rivals. Meanwhile, India will begin its campaign on September 10 against the United Arab Emirates at the Dubai International Stadium.
"The Asia Cup is more than just a tournament, it's a celebration of Asian cricket. Hosting it in the UAE allows us to bring the excitement to one of the most vibrant cricketing hubs in the world. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are well equipped to deliver a seamless and world class experience for players, fans, and broadcasters alike," said Mr. Mohsin Naqvi, President of the Asian Cricket Council.
"We are confident that the 2025 edition will not only set new standards for excellence but also deepen the connection between the game and millions of passionate supporters across the continent," he added.
