Shubman Gill hints Arshdeep Singh's debut in fifth Test vs England.

India captain Shubman Gill hinted that 26-year-old speedster Arshdeep Singh will likely to make his Test debut in the last Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 against England from July 31 to August 4 at The Oval in London. Arshdeep, who got a maiden Test call-up for the five-Test match series, has played 63 T20Is (99 wickets) and nine ODIs (14 wickets).

With Jasprit Bumrah already featured in three Tests, which was decided before the series. Arshdeep will most likely to feature alongside Mohammed Siraj. Gill also hinted that Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar will be the two front-line spinners, which means Kuldeep Yadav will most likely sit out of the fifth Test as well.

"Arshdeep Singh has been asked to get ready but we will take a call on the Playing XI after looking at the pitch, by this evening. England haven't picked a frontline spinner. We have Jadeja and Washi to do the job," Gill said in the pre-match press conference on Wednesday.

On Jasprit Bumrah, Gill did not confirm whether the pacer is ruled out or not. "We will make a decision tomorrow, the wicket looks very green. So let's see," he said.

"2-2 will be very significant for this team. Every match we have played, it was difficult to decide the winner after first four days. Series has been a great learning curve. Some things you can learn from experience, hopefully finish on a high!"

On the other camp, England have announced their playing XI for the last Test with four changes. Skipper Ben Stokes ruled out of the last Test citing a shoulder injury.

England Playing XI for 5th Test: Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope (c), Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jacob Bethell, Jamie Smith, Chris Woakes, Gus Atkinson, Jamie Overton, Josh Tongue.
